9th Grade Graduation

Tonight was Lakeview Academy's 9th graduation. Honestly I thought it was a pretty stupid idea because we are Freshmen not Seniors. But I guess since we were leaving Lakeview and are the "oldies" of the group. The theme was "Hats off" so every 9th grader was supposed to wear a hat that represents us. Erin Barnes wore a flying pig hat. It had actual moving wings! She would pull strings that was attached to the wings enabling her to move them. Admittedly I was jealous because the gowns we had to wear were very hot and the wings fanned her. Anyway we all went up and got our diplomas and got our pictures taken, etc. etc. And most of all I SURVIVED MIDDLE SCHOOL! :) It's a miracle! Oh, and I have a 4.0 GPA.

La Caille

The Lakeview Academy's 9th grade class (all 21 of us) had the opportunity to go to La Caille last night (May 16th).
We had a couple of etiquette lessons preparing us for this and they were so complicated I was sure I was going to make a fool of myself messing up on all of them. We also learned how to remove the escargot from it's shell. Yuck! I was positive I was not going to have to worry about that part because I had no intention of even touching the snail.
The week leading up to the trip our Biology teacher taught his lessons in French and taught us some useful phrases. One thing that really stuck was the word for bread: la pain. Which of course isn't pronounced pain. But it was still pretty funny. Every time he would say it the whole class would bust out laughing.
The day of we went home early from school so that we could get ready. After about two hours we came back to the school to figure out carpool. It was kind of weird seeing everyone dressed up when we usually see each other in our school uniform. We all piled into cars and were on our way. There was only one boy in the car I rode in and the girls seemed to forget he was there on occasion and they would start talking about girl stuff and he would look at me with a look like "What have I gotten myself into?".
When we got to La Caille we all posed for a picture:
(Notice how I am in the front because I am so short!)

We then walked around the beautiful grounds. There was ponds, swans, peacocks, geese, and chicken. My friend Maddie was terrified of the geese and every time we would walk past them she would squeak and run away. Most of the boys would abuse or try to abuse the animals but the animals had the common sense to run every time they saw them coming.
When went inside to eat it was amazing! It was like an old rustic house... a huge house! We all sat at tables and they served the escargot. Of course everyone was daring each other to eat it. When I managed to pull it out of it's shell it looked like a piece of brown mush. and it slid right out. But I decided to eat it. Not all of it but some. The texture was like a mix of sushi and mushroom. It tasted just like butter and garlic, but because of the texture it was really hard to get down. But now I can say I ate escargot! The next course was a salad with ranch dressing (yuck!). Throughout that course I kept repeating to myself: You ate snail you can eat ranch. Over and over. Next was the main course which was chicken. It was really good! Admittedly because I am technically a vegetarian I couldn't bring myself to eat all of it. The dessert was next: A crepe with vanilla ice cream, and chocolate on top. Of course this was the part I was looking forward to. Who wouldn't look forward to dessert?! It was AMAZING!  The only thing I wish they would have done was to keep the crepe warm. It was frozen! The hardest etiquette rule for me was no elbows on the table! It was so hard! I slipped up a couple of times and by the end of the meal I didn't care anymore!
After the meal we had sometime before the carpool came back to pick us up. We talked and walked around a little more. I actually ended up talking to the teachers most of the time.

Update

A lot has happened since I last wrote! So this post is an update post telling what I have been doing since October.
In early November I went to a party at my friend's house and we played a Wii game called Just Dance we were having such a good time and then I dislocated my knee. Now I must say that was not the most pleasant night of my life. We went to the E.R. and they popped it back in and gave me a brace. It took longer then I would have liked to be able to get the brace off. It was around early December before I could walk without being scared that it would pop out again.
December was a very busy and fun filled month. my birthday was on the 10th. I got what I really really really really  wanted, a camera. We had lost our family one sometime earlier so we bought a new one. Then we found the old one and that's the one I got. I LOVE that camera!!! Then of course it was Christmas! We had a very good holiday full of laughter and giving (more on some people's parts then others). The most surprising Christmas present was when dad told us that he was going to be the bishop. Actually he didn't really tell us he scattered the surprise in different scriptures which we had to decode.
In February I tried out for our school's play. I ended up being Princess #12 and a Lady of the Court in the play  Once Upon a Matteress.
The end of March we put on the play. At first I was really nervous because we were no where near ready! But it was probably the best production Lakeview has done so far.
In April Abbey and I had a music festival. We practiced and practiced and good new! We both got the highest score that was possible.
May was the last month of school but suprisingly calm.Except in the second to last week of the month my camera go dropped on the cement and now the screen doesn't work. The person who did this shall be left unnamed.
Now Abbey and I are working hard on kids' camp. Hooping that it will turn out alright. We are actually really excited about it this year.
Bye!

School

School for us this year started on August 18th. I was pretty excited, like I always am.
Of course it being the beginning of the year all our schedules were mixed up. When mine was finally worked out I got:
1st period: Student Government
2nd:Choir
3rd:U.S. History
4th: Science
5th: Geometery( I HATE Geometery!)
6th: 3d design ( which was a class I ended up in because I had no other place to go.)
7th: English
It turned out that 3d design wasn't as bad as I thought. We're doing google sketch up right now and it's really cool.Although I really hated doing pivot.
Geometery. Now who even like geometery in the first place??? It gives me a headache, but I found a site that explains it great! It's http://www.brightstorm.com/ and it has alegbra thru calculus. Which will be really nice in the future.
So it's the end of the quarter and I'm kinda apprehensive  about my grades. I think I did okay. I guess I have to wait for my report card to come.

Kids Camp

This summer Abbey and I decided to do a day camp to earn a little money. We do it 3 days a week:Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Mondays and Fridays we do two sessions,on Wednesdays we only do one session. So far we've done a Carnival, Princess Party, Backyard Olympics, Pirate Party, and Fourth of July Celebration.
The kids are all so adorable (even if they can be a handful sometimes)! I love getting to know them. Although most of them see me as the background person (which is partly true)and just ignore me.
The prep time is a little chaotic. With Abbey and I trying find activities to do. Then figuring out what to get at the store and then putting together examples of the crafts. One day we couldn't start getting ready til really late because the day had been so busy and we ended up staying up til 2:30AM! Which left us tired the next morning as we scrambled to get the rest of the stuff ready. Hopefully we've learned from our mistakes and the rest of the summer will go a little bit smoother!

Wonderful Day of Rain

Today was what Abbey and I call it, a Washington day. It didn't rain a lot but when it did it was like being back there. Abbey and I went out and just stood out in the rain our face up toward the sky. After a while we went in search of puddles. We found some and splashed in it. I was wearing jeans so it wasn't so comfortable, so I went and changed into a skirt-which I could move more freely in-that was better because my clothes weren't getting soaked and I could enjoy the rain even more fully. Sadly after a while it stopped. But don't dismay! There was still plenty to do outside.
Abbey and I went for a walk around the neighborhood. While we were out and about we found many great puddles to splash in.
When we were almost home Abbey made a great discovery! The sun was kind of behind clouds and one direction was really light and the other really dark. Unfortuntately the way home was the dark way. This was our conversation:
Faith: Should we go the light way or the dark way??
Abbey: Well we need to go home, so the dark way.
Faith: The dark way!!!
Abbey: Okay!!
(not those exact words but some what like that.)
So that was our day in the rain.

Last Day of School 2010

Today was field/the last day of the school. Meaning that insyead of going to school we went straight to
Sunrise Meadows Park.It was supposed to be warm. But of course it ended up being cold and windy.
Most of the day we just sat there and talked which was... fun.I don't remember how this started but me and my friends ended up throwing grass at each other and then we went after Jesse K. who in turn got us back.

Jesse K. about to throw grass at me.

Then they had a teachers vs. students softball game.I just sat by and watched. because if I had played they would have lost bad.I don't remember who ended up winning. I think it was the teachers.
After the game Mr. VT announced that he would not be coming back next year! Which is horrible because he is one,if not the only teacher in the school who is irreplacable. With his unquie way of teaching and his teasing. And now I'm not sure if he was kidding or not. But he seemed serious. I don't know how i'm going to survive Geometery next year with out him!
Then it was the water fight!!!!!
At first I really didn't want to participate, but then Reganne came up to me and sprayed me in the back.
I couldn't find anymore squirt guns so Makaela let me use her water bottle. Lets just say things did not end dry.

Heber Valley Camp Open House

Yesterday my mom and I went to Heber Valley Camp (where I go to girls' camp in the summer). It was the open house and mom is on the stake camp committee and she wanted to check things out.
On the way up it started raining. I thought, hey a little rain that won't slow us down. When we got  to the challenge course. It started snowing! I know it's in the mountains but it's MAY for heavens sake it's almost summer it shouldn't SNOW!!! It stopped snowing after a little while. And we went around the rest of camp.
After we had finished touring the camp, we went down to Legacy Lake. Which was so breathtaking, with snow on the banks and the trees surronding it. To make it even better  a bald eagle flew over the lake. It was pretty cool.

Brian Regan

On Friday my mom and I went to a Brian Regan concert (for those of you that don't know he is a comedian)! Tanya and Darryl gave my mom and dad tickets for christmas, but dad had to on a business trip so I got the ticket (actually Abbey got the ticket but then she gave it to me).It was so much fun!As always he was hilarious! It suprised me that most of the stuff he said I had never heard before. It seems he comes up with material everytime. It's hard to tell about  because it's one of the experiences that you have to witness yourself. If you haven't seen him look him up on youtube. My favorite ones  poptart and emergency room.

Alayna's Birthday Party

Yesterday was my friend's birthday party. We went to the Classic Skating Rink.
At first I was just going to sit and talk to the people who weren't skating ( because I can't skate ). But it turned out that they allowed scooters on the rink. So I did the scooter.
After we were done on the rink we went around and played the arcade games. I never got any thing
out of any of  the thingies. But Makalea got lucky and got something out of the drill game.
I went to look at the photobooth thing (which I thought was cheap). It was $2! I was depating wether or not to do it when Maddy came up and we decided to do it together. It turned out to be a lot of fun! Alayna called us back to the table to have cupcakes and open her presents. Her mom had forgotten the lighter so she pretended to blow it out. Maddy and Emily decided to have a who can be the messiest eater so the literally stuffed it in their face. Alayna's mom took a picture and now it's goin' in the yearbook. She opened her presents, then Maddy, Reganne, and I went to the photobooth and took more photos. Then came Emily and we took some with her. There was one where she put half her face out of the frame and acted like she was screaming and Maddy acted like she was laughing at her, while I was acting concerned. then we went and ate icecream. again Maddy and Emily didn't bother with spoons.

The car ride home was one of the funnest parts of the whole party! Maddy, Emily, and I sat in the backseat. and Brilyen took pictures of our weird faces.

2nd Quarter Field Trip

For the 2nd quarter field  trip we went to the  Hutchings museum, Jack and Jill's bowling, and Emmet and Ethel's (ice cream).
We went bowlinig first. I didn't bowl because of my back, but it was fun watching everyone else.
Annecy was a pro. I mean she won out of her group of three. Ms. Ralphs even bowled (and she was pretty good too).We were there awhile and everyone seemed worn out by the time we left.
The Hutchings museum was really fun as always. My favorite room was the rock thingy room (the room with all the rocks) there are so many sparkly things in the world but rock are in the top five I bet.
My favorite rock was one that was a bright green. they said it was made from Volcanic something and that it got it's color from all the different acids and  bacteria under the volcano. We went to the "Back West" part of the museum, where we saw what they think is Butch Cassidy's gun and many other cool things.  We also went into the jail cells.
Emmet and Ethel's was like heaven! Their shakes are amazingly huge (and yummy). Reganne, Makalea, and I split a triple fudge brownie shake. Then Jesica split a grasshopper shake.

Christmas/New Years

Christmas this year was awesome!
That might be what everyone else is saying, but it's true.
On christmas morining as always we lined up on the stairs. We went down in age order to see our stockings.
Grace got a car and her stocking was placed inside,JJ ran down the stairs excitedly and looked around for hers  when she found hers she was happy,Santa had gotten her a scooter which she has been wanting for a very long time,Kate not only ran but practically tripped down the stairs. When she saw her she naturally was excited. She too had gotten a scooter,Spencer was a different story. He started screaming in delight even before he saw his stuff. He didn't bother looking down but raced to his stocking looking at the stuff. Then he looked down and saw that he had gotten Labryinth (like his favorite game ever),when we watched over the tape it sounded as though a herd of buffalo had gone through our family room, Next it was me. It took me a while to find my stocking. I got a new scooter. Then we opened presents a lot of people got a lot of fun stuff.
Then we spent the rest of the day playing with the new stuff. Spencer and I played a new wii game we got.

  New years was fun.
We basically played around all day. When the little girls went to bed we got down to business. We played  Masterpiece. It was really funny watching Spence trying to put on a poker face. And when there was an auction Matt would keep on bidding and Spencer would just bid to out bid him and Matthew was just trying to rid Spencer of his money. Then we played PIT! It is like the funnist game ever! Poor Abbey she ended up with the bear almost every time. We also watched Princess Bride and played scramble. Mom won.

And yes my grammar is HORRIBLE. As Matthew was so kind to point out.
